‘Tailwind’ was whipped up in the whirlwinds of the Melbourne spoken word poetry community in 2013-2015. It features poems which have been performed in winning slams, read at rallies and in artist’s studios, published in school newsletters, even included in a submission to a Royal Commission.
In ‘Tailwind’, poet Rowan White combines his appreciation for the good life he enjoys in 21st century Melbourne with his determination to see to it that needed social change continues to happen. Subjects are as varied as styles, sometimes personal, sometimes big-picture political. ‘Tailwind’ is always passionate, occasionally profound, and often very funny.
